VAN ALSTYNE, TX. - "A new business is coming to Van Alstyne, and it's coming from Sherman.
Allan Commercial Millwork announced plans to build and move to a new facility at Van Alstyne's Cold Springs Industrial Park, and the city is excited to add another manufacturing business.
Allan Commercial builds cabinets. By moving closer to Dallas, the company hopes to find more skilled labor.
A larger facility is needed because they've outgrown their home in Sherman. The company plans to build in three phases, the first of which promises to add 30 to 35 new jobs in Van Alstyne.
"They're going to eat here; they're going to shop here; some of them are going to buy homes here; they're going to fill gas here; they may get insurance here," said Van Alstyne Economic Development Corporation executive director Rodney Williams. "So really these dollars are going to be spread out in the community."
Allan Commercial Millwork expects the first phase of construction to be finished by the end of 2023."
