The Christmas season is the busiest time of the year for families & most businesses, a time when many are feeling overwhelmed.

The Eric Medders Realty Group has found a way to deliver the Christmas spirit to both families and those who may feel the loneliest.

The local real estate team is photographing families in the back of a charming Red Truck and providing free downloads.  Plus they have established the You Are Not Alone project, delivering Christmas cards to widows, widowers, shut-ins, nursing homes, hospice agencies and others.

The Red Truck Photo campaign has delivered a vintage red truck, self made Christmas tree forest and photographer to Trenton's Winterfest 2019 and Melissa's 2019 Christmas Parade & Marketplace.  The final date on the Medder team calendar is December 14, as they bring their setup to Van Alstyne's Christmas Parade.  The Red Truck will be set up across from Dorothy Fielder Park, historic downtown Van Alstyne from noon-4, with VAAlltheWay's Griff Servati as their photographer.  The Van Alstyne Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade begins at 2 p.m., with Santa Claus in the Gazebo post-parade.  Free photos with Santa will be offered by the Van Alstyne Is Christmas Town volunteers.

The family photos have been a big hit with local families.  "It's been so nice to meet the families, and they have been so kind & genuinely thankful.  Many shared they have had a difficult time just making time, scheduling an appointment, or paying to get a a treasured Christmas family photo.  Some had never had a holiday family photo.  We have all enjoyed it as much as the families!," said Eric Medders, founder & team leader.  "It's been a very rewarding way for us to give back."

Those families have been expressive on Facebook, sharing their photos and gratitude.  The photos are posted in an album from the Eric Medders Realty Group's Facebook page.  Once the album is loaded, the photographs may be downloaded, and families are welcome to use the free images for print or social media.  Medders had no interest in watermarking the images, he wanted the photos to feel like a gift.

"Not only did The Eric Medders Group provide professional quality pictures on the cutest red truck around, they are also sponsoring a Christmas card project to bring written cards to the elderly and to those who may have lost their loved one. I think this is such an awesome idea and I am overjoyed to know that there are others who care so much to do things like this to give back to the communities they serve," said Gena Offill.  Offill and her family were photographed in the Red Truck by VAAlltheWay.com's Griff Servati at the Melissa Parade & Marketplace.

The Christmas Card project Offill referred to is the You Are Not Alone campaign.  Hundreds of cards have been distributed by the team for individuals, groups, Sunday School classes & schools to write a personal message inside. The "givers" of the message sign the card, You Are Not Alone and their first name only.  Collecting through December 16, the cards will be delivered to participating agencies.  Medders and wife Laura co-spirited the campaign, Laura driven by the loss of her mother.  The two want to remind as many as possible that at this Christmas season, they are not alone.  "It's been so special as this program grew bigger than we could imagine.  We've had individuals literally bring us boxes of personal cards they have filled out, Anna's Harlow Elementary had the students make cards at their North Pole night, Kings Trail Cowboy Church Kids, First Baptist Van Alstyne Kids & Elmont Kids all made cards. It's been so touching for all of us." concluded Medders.
