Texas topped the list that includes California, Florida, Illinois and North Carolina as the states that were the most popular destinations for corporate transfers, according to Allied Van Lines.

The huge moving company looked at consumer and corporate moves between Jan. 1 through Dec. 5, 2019 for its annual Magnet States Report.

The Houston area was Allied’s most frequent destination for corporate moves and Austin was the top consumer move location.

“Texas, with its business-friendly climate, has ranked as the top move destination for Allied corporate customers for the last six years,” the moving company said in the just released report. “The high influx of corporations moving to Texas makes it a highly desirable destination for top talent.”

Florida – which is attractive to retirees – was Allied’s top consumer move destination for 2019.

Allied Van Lines says it has moved almost 3 billion pounds of household goods and personal effects over the last six years.

“Our mission is to help people get to where they need to go to for a new beginning, be closer to their families, for career opportunities and to grow their business,” Lesli Bertoli, general manager and vice president of Allied Van Lines, said in the report. “It’s interesting to see Americans continuing to migrate South and West this year and we look forward to seeing how this trend evolves in the new decade.”
